Simona Halep s-a calificat în turul secund de la Roland Garros, la capătul unui meci cu peripeţii. Cea mai bună jucătoare a lumii s-a impus cu 2-6, 6-1, 6-1, în faţa lui Alison Riske (83 WTA), după o oră şi 34 de minute. După un prim set pierdut fără drept de apel cu 2-6, după ce a fost condusă cu 0-5 şi care a durat 42 de minute, Halep a revenit şi nu i-a mai dat nicio şansă sportivei americane.
În turul doi de la Roland Garros, Simona Halep va juca mâine împotriva lui Taylor Townsend (22 de ani, 72 WTA), care a învins-o pe Myrtille Georges (27 de ani, 222 WTA), scor 6-4, 6-2, informează www.digisport.ro.

21 mai - Sfinţii Împăraţi Constantin şi Elena; Constantin Graur (Constandinu Puilor)
Pentru ţăranul român, 21 mai nu este numai sărbătoarea Sfinţilor Împăraţi, ci şi ziua de Constantin Graur sau Constandinu Puilor – momentul în care păsările din pădure încep să-şi înveţe puii să zboare.
Pe când se afla în luptă cu duşmanul mai puternic, Împăratul Constantin a cerut ajutor lui Dumnezeu şi, ziua în amiaza mare, a apărut pe cer o cruce luminoasă pe care sta scris cu litere de stele ”Prin acest semn vei învinge”. Peste noapte, împăratul l-a visat pe Iisus care îl îndemna să facă un steag de luptă cu semnul crucii pe el. Aşa a făcut şi a devenit învingător.
Devenind stăpân al Romei, Constantin dă în 312 un decret de încetare a prigonirii creştinilor. Mută capitala Imperiului Roman în Bizanţ, unde construieşte mult pentru cetatea care îi va purta numele – Constantinopole. Luptă pentru unitatea credinţei creştine, tulburată de erezia lui Arie. Participă la Sinodul de la Niceea, a cărui ţinere el o hotărâse.
În lucrările sale a fost susţinut cu râvnă şi evlavie de mama sa, Elena. O trimite pe împărăteasă la Ierusalim ca să descopere Sfânta Cruce. Iar ea o găseşte! Elena ridică biserici la Sfântul Mormânt, în Bethleem şi Niceea. Moare în 327. Peste zece ani, în 337, moare şi împăratul Constantin.
Aşa începe istoria de peste un mileniu a Bizanţului, care pentru români a însemnat mult...
